Star Lady Golfer Madina Iddi has been named in a contingent of four golfers who will compete for Tanzania at the 2016 edition of Windhoek Lager African Jacket teeing off in Namibia on June 22 through June 26th.
Others in the team include Moshi based handicap 0 golfer Abas Adam as well as Akil Yusufali who will compete in the Div. B category. Little known Shaizad Bhanji will play in the Div C category as Tanzania looks forward to impress at what looks like four days of imposing golf.
A total fifteen (15) countries are expected to play in this particularly glowing annual invitational championship launched in 2013 with only five countries competing.
TGU Chairman Joseph Tango said the four were picked after a competitive qualifying campaign that only benefit the most consistent athlete. And with the inclusion of women golf at the tournament Madina Iddi becomes the first Tanzanian woman to compete for the African Jacket. Whether she makes the cut is to be seen. However, her strength on the tee spiced with an imposing putting technique offers an added antidote to Tanzania’s presentation this year.
