Tanzania Golf Union launches the second half 2016 Calendar of Events with the 67th edition of Tanzania Open Golf Championship expected to tee off August 12 at the illuminating KiliGolf and Wild Resort, Arusha.

The Par 73 course – beautifully demanding – colored with lakes, waterfalls and cascades looks invitingly towards three days of imposing golf where participants from as far as South Africa, Kenya, Burundi, Rwanda, the DRC, Zambia, Ethiopia as well as Uganda converge to witness yet another milestone in Tanzania Golf Development. With a magnificent view of Africa’s roof top, golfers will mingle with wild birds and bushy neighborhoods from the first tee, with the inviting wind firing their trail along the wild landscape.
Swimming will be allowed for willing divers
The natural situate between Mt Kilimanjaro and Mt Meru on 1,040 acres of prime African bush land boasting an expansive 18 hole offers visiting golfers a touristic view of Tanzania, yet golfers must expect more than just golf considering the massive water land marks – read the popular Usa River Story cutting through the course.
Organized by national golf body TGU in collaboration with host club and generous development partners, the three day event will see Division A players play 36 holes on opening day and another 18 holes Day 2 before completing 72 holes on final Day 3 with another 18.
Pro Golfers will be all guns and bullets competing for prize money and a maximum of 30 pros are expected to make the cut for the top prize. However, the party will not be complete without the presence of other categories namely Div B and C. Learning from previous events, the annual tournament is growing with year on year. This year’s event has all the tale tell signs for a massive success and juniors athletes as well as ladies and senior players are expected to cheer up the tournament.
